Beechwood is a three-bedroom family home owned by the Stronsay Development Trust. The property was purchased in 2020 through grant funding and was extensively renovated by Castlehill Construction in 2023 before being brought back into use as high-quality residential accommodation.
The project was developed to help address local housing needs and support the long-term sustainability of the island community. By providing quality rented accommodation, Beechwood aims to encourage families and individuals to settle in Stronsay, as well as support those relocating to the island for employment opportunities.
Beechwood is currently let as a long-term residential tenancy and is managed on behalf of the Trust by Orkney Islands Property Development Ltd (OIPDL), who are responsible for the day-to-day administration of the tenancy and property management.
The creation of Beechwood reflects the Trust's ongoing commitment to strengthening the island's population, supporting economic development, and helping to ensure that suitable housing is available for those wishing to make Stronsay their home.
