The Community Greenhouse is a warm, welcoming growing space at the heart of Stronsay
Designed to help residents grow their own produce, connect with others, and extend the island’s growing season.
Inside the main polytunnel, there are 12 individual plots available to rent.
Each plot offers a sheltered environment ideal for vegetables, fruit, and flowers, helping growers achieve strong results even in challenging weather conditions.
At the rear of the main tunnel, there is also a small standalone polytunnel available to rent.
This private space is ideal for those looking for a little more independence while still being part of the wider greenhouse community.
Plots are available from 1st April each year at a cost of £50 per annum.
Alongside the individual plots, the greenhouse features a communal bench area,
perfect for potting on, seed sowing, and sharing advice as well as a shared herb garden for everyone to enjoy.
Demand for plots is high, and we operate a waiting list.
